Black and white
You are dark
I am light
Black hole man
Swallowing me
I shine to you
I am consumed
Not reflected
Nothing back
From nothingness

His gaze, his eyes
Found her heart.
She felt unquenchable love
But soon faced the
Depths of his steeled anger, and
Flinched as his cursed words, like fists,
Found their mark—her tortured soul.
She knew anguish and nightmares
But with crumbling pride began
To see herself again and,
Hiding her broken heart,
She found her head
And walked away.
*********************************
Reward me with harm
Strike and break hopes
Love was yours, is yours
Laugh and look and touch
Keep desire true
But heaven waits elsewhere.
****************************
Wall
You are stone
Unbending
Unyielding
Unchanging
Unmoving
Harsh words, cold anger
I cannot see inside
I am water
Shapeless
Ebbing
Shifting
Flowing
Tearful pleas, sad heart
You can see right through me
You will not let me in
And still I seek an entry to your heart
I find the cracks, you shift to fill them
I glimpse your soul, you shut me out
I wash against you and fall away
*************************************
My throat is full
Full of words
Words I cannot speak for they are
Words you will not hear
My throat is full
Full of words
Your words
Words you thrust and shove
On top of mine
And force me to swallow
And are lodged in my throat
Choking, strangling the love I have
For you
Tears then, are my only release
Hated water
Water you hate
Water flowing
To relieve the pressure of pain
And unexpressed thoughts
And feelings
No matter
What words that do manage to
Escape my throat are wasted anyway
Upon you
Better that they remain where they are
Remain mine, and not yours
For me
